How good is Cesenatico for summer vacation?

Cesenatico

Hello my friends!

It is September now and I am feeling the end of summer. The casual breeze, the city is becoming noisy again, even on the weekends and the work season has started heavily. However I don’t feel sorry the summer is going because I had a very pleasant one. The best part is the one week we spent in Cesenatico, Emiglia Romagnia region of Italy.

I did not have very high expectations at first considering the beach would be on the coast of Adriatic Sea and is not one of my favorites, but I came to love the place and the time spent there.

I loved quite a few things about the place that I am sure everybody would find attractive.

I want to mention as a very good point of my article here the fact that I really did not find Cesenatico that expensive. We were there in a peak season and the hotels and restaurants were full, so were the supermarkets and markets really, but still the prices were quite affordable and compared to many other touristic towns I’d find it less costly.
You could have a very good meal for just 10 -15 eur per person, or a great bottle of wine for 18 eur.  There were also a couple of shopping malls around for nonfood things you might need while in vacation, with very good prices.

For history and culture lovers there is the Maritime Museum, the Ancient Boats on Leonardesque Canal Port etc.  For beach lovers I’d suggest the sunrise rather than sunset as it looks as if the sun comes out of the see and is so beautiful.  In the morning the tide goes down and the shore becomes huge.  Taking a picture, going running or enjoying a nice walk along the beach would make you day beautiful.  And of course you can enjoy the sun on the quite beach during the day, or go for a boat ride hoping to see any dolphins.
Cesenatico is sourrounded by other communes that are full of attractions, perfect for day excursions; my favorite was Santarcangelo di Romagna. Pope Clement XIV was born there and the place is so beautiful with the Ganganelli square and steps up to the hill where you can watch the lights of the town and the many beautiful restaurants and cafes. T here’s also Rimini with its many options of entertainment. I have to mention San Marino, the teeny tiny country in the middle of Italy, a pearl among pearls. Hope you enjoyed and found the info useful.
